Random Award Of The Day - Canada Reference

Random Award Of The Day

Lazy Weekend

Today is Friday. This means my long/short week is officially over. This means I can spend the entire weekend at home doing absolutely nothing. This means it's time for a cat picture with a funny caption. Or it's time to glue captions to cats. I can't decide. You be the judge.

Yeah... you're right. Glue it is.

The Japanese Cell Phone Market Kicks The US Cell Phone Market's Ass

Why. Why. WHY CAN'T THE U.S. HAVE AWESOME CELL PHONES LIKE THIS ONE? WHY? I don't want an iPhone. I just plain don't. I know that Japan is the country producing all these cool phones but why don't they make it over here? Everytime I go get my nails done the staff has nifty little phones they got from back home.

Introducing the Panasonic P906I.

Their Own World

ABCNews.com and the Associated Press published photos from what they called "an uncontacted indian tribe". The pictures and the concept seem so foreign to me. They literally have their own little world. No technology, no influence... they exist within their own reality. I have watched a few documentaries on new tribe discoveries. Usually, the researchers don't have cameras rolling during their first contact. When they do go back, you can already see the touches of modern world hitting them. Elders wearing hats, children wearing pieces of cotton clothing. Interestingly enough, the report stated "there are more than 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, most of them in Brazil and Peru".

I am going to post the photos but they aren't very big. The first photo is probably the most striking. The "Uncontacted Indians" were photographed from a plane in the Envira River region of Brazil near the Peru border. They fired arrows at the plane as it flew over.

I Don't Haz It But I Want One That Haz It

Back to work and doesn't it feel so bad... I've been back home for a couple days now but I'm still exhausted. So much to do, working on my MOS certification, GRAASM (big international meeting at work next week), looking to go back to school for my degree... etc. Being busy helps with the missing of the Ian... but only to a certain extent. I'll probably post a bunch of pictures from our Niagara Falls trip. The whole weekend was a ton of fun... It always is when I'm with him. Anyway, I have to get back to creating handouts. FUN! Here is a bunneh on what looks like a kitteh.

Unshun!

3 Days and Counting

A little Monday morning reading material as I can't seem to get to work... I need an Iced Tea the size of my head.

Cracked has a new list out - The 10 Most Terrifying Video Game Enemies of All Time. Among my favorites:

#8 - The Dog from Paperboy
This game was a 1988 Nintendo classic about a plucky paperboy and an entire neighborhood that inexplicably wanted to murder him.

I never played the following game... but the description made me laugh.

#2 - The Poison Head Crabs from Half Life 2
Whenever we heard these lil' fuckers ululating in a shadowy corner of the room, we fell back on our default strategy of spinning in circles and shooting at the ceiling. And we weren't the only ones wigging out --the crabs' shrieks were so unpleasant that they reportedly threw Half Life 2 play testers into ammo-wasting paroxysms.

Patch Notes for Wrath of the Lich King Alpha Testing are out/leaked. My only comment for this is where it mentions Death Knights... THEY START IN EASTERN PLAGUELANDS???? I thought I was done with that dustbowl of hell.

I really need to hurry up and get my Civic Hybrid... /sigh - Gas, Diesel Prices Soar to Record High

Has anyone seen the new "Slutty" Starbucks Logo? I'm not exactly sure if I would call it slutty... and I don't really agree that she has her "legs" spread... but wtf... It's just plain weird looking. Someone needs to smack the marketing department's lead upside the head. Probably should include the CEO as well.

I'm not sure if I'm going to see it... but Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is getting semi-good reviews after being viewed at Cannes. I'm not big into the action genre but I'd watching the previous 3 films again... Ok, minus the bug scene in the Temple of Doom one.

Anyway, 2 more days and then a day of travel for me and I'll be in the arms of the man I love. Yes, I'm a sappy mess when it comes to Ian. Below is something to add to my list. Have a great Monday!

Blizzard Hates Everyone BUT Druids & Horde

Very little makes me truly upset in WoW. I get pissed here and there... I don't like being camped just like everyone else... But give me a flying f-ing break. Blizzard has no concept of just how overpowered Druids can be. Yes, the geekness is shining through but this is just beyond comprehension:

Scare Beast Change Reverted

That is correct, the 30 yard range will remain. It is only the the instant cast change that was reverted back to a 1.5 second cast time, because it was felt that it was too strong against Feral Druids. The tool tip still says that it is an instant cast though, but please note that this is not correct and will be fixed in a future patch. We realize that some of you may be disappointed that you weren't getting the buff to the ability that you anticipated, but please keep in mind that it's certainly not a nerf. The instant cast change was simply too strong, and as a result, it was reverted back to its original cast time of 1.5 seconds.

Excuse me??? "Simply too strong"?!?!?!? Uhm, have you ever played against a druid? No, well let me fill you in.... One word: Cyclone. Not removable. Doesn't give you health back as with sheep. Virtually no diminishing returns that I know of (Ian will correct me I'm sure). You want me to "keep in mind that it's certainly not a nerf"...? Are you kidding me? You give something to Hunter's (don't get me started on their class!) that can actually control a druid for once and then you rethink it and decide it's too strong. Yes, god forbid a druid gets to have a challenge in pvp or arenas. Blizzard needs to either admit their fondness for this class or grow a pair and stand up to the whiners on the forums.

You know what I would just *love*? I want... just ONCE... for them to buff priests to say that we are overpowered. I've NEVER seen nor heard a person say Dude, Nerf priests... I've been playing almost since release. I know enough about the game to know that druids and horde are generally favored. Case in point: Last night we had a little pvp going on... Ian and Kirk looked around the horde town for the pansies that ran away when the odds were turned against them... Anyway, the horde town in Hellfire Peninsula has much more stealth detection... flying mount guards (HH currently has none)... more guards in general than Honor Hold has or ever will have. It is completely obvious which side is favored. But even then... I would much rather play Alliance.

I just reached the max amount of resilience you can have. My gear is pretty damn good. I can almost guarantee that if I went into an arena against a druid... I might be able to give him a run for his money because he just can't kill me right away... but cyclone spam... and cheetah kiting... and innervate... and lifebloom... (want me to keep going?) will most likely be the cause of death/outlasting for me. You want me to keep in mind that blatant nerfing of an ability that would give an honest challenge to a druid... isn't in fact a nerf? Because it's "simply too strong". Please.

You can dismiss the above as just the rantings of a pissy female human priest... but talk to me after you done a few rounds with a druid + anything combo and then tell me that one new ability for one class is too strong. Or if your response is simply "then roll a druid". Done. See, I can be overpowered too! Still doesn't make it right.

Sleepy

So... so.. very sleepy. I'm so tired for some reason. After I finish this post I'm going to have to get a coffee or something. Anyway, it's officially one week until I land back in Canada. I really need a vacation. I'm going through these phases of wanting to get stuff done at work and then wanting nothing more than to be sleeping under my desk. Today is a sleeping under the desk kind of day. As the post below indicates... I have indeed bought a Wii. I have zero self control... I saw it on ebay... it was at a relatively good price... I couldn't help it. This should give Ian and I something to do when he comes out in July for 2 WEEKS! And it's time for.... SCARY PANDA!!

The Long Road

Waiting.... waiting... waiting... I see this long road ahead of me. I love walking down it. But at some point, I want to sit off to the side and enjoy it. Or go into cruise control and see the sights. I'm a planner. I make plans. I organize. I research. I have these bursts of planning energy and I get really excited for the future. After each trip, that energy is non-existant. I make all of these plans on the way home from the airport to do x, y, z... and I never do any of it. I come home... usually change... hug my pillow and try to sniff out some sort of scent from Ian - usually his hair gel stuff... play a little WoW... listen to some music... flip channels on the TV... and just wait. If I'm really feeling emo, I get insecure about my relationship and try to look for holes in it. Of course, I never really find any... as "sickening" as it is... we are my kind of perfect. I could do many things. Dishes, laundry, many rounds of farming... but I don't do any of it. It usually takes me a couple days of getting back to "normal life". Which is frustrating because whatever this normal life is... it's kind of a half life. I'm living for the future. Always looking forward... always planning...

I'm currently planning to go see Ian in two weeks. Exactly two weeks from today I will be on another flight to Canada to see him. After that I can start the process of getting back to "normal" all over again.

Anyway, another top 5 list from MSN. Top 5 Hardest Levels In Video Games. It's funny... Clubhouse Games is on there again... Sadly, I do remember Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! <-- Note the 2 exclamation points in the title. It was that exciting. Sort of.

I Want A Wii

I've officially decided that I want a Wii. I really wanted to wait until Ian and I moved in together... but damn, everything lately has been pointing to me buying a Wii. Ha! I just rhymed. I didn't even mean to, I think I have to go to the loo. That's right. I said it. Anyway, enjoy... Another fabulous edition of... WILL IT BLEND?
