Bumbo Time!

There is an advantage to taking so many pictures of the same thing. Google turns them into a GIF automatically. :]

Baby Blanket Time

Emma and I experienced our first class at the Early Years Center. Emma laid on her blanket while I tried to learn some of the songs. (Dirty diaper, dirty diaper, stinky bum... stinky bum. I'm going to change you, yes, I'm going to change you, clean, clean bum... clean, clean bum!)
When we got back home, she was pretty happy. :]

TableTop Fun: Dungeon Petz

Cute little monsters... how could you go wrong with Dungeon Petz? :]

From BoardGameGeek:
Become the leader of an imp family that has just started a new business – breeding and selling petz. Sound simple and safe? Well, we forgot to mention that those petz are for Dungeon Lords. This means magical, playful, sometimes angry monsters that constantly desire attention and at the very moment you want them to demonstrate their qualities to buyers they are sick or they poop. Sometimes you are even glad that you got rid of them – but the profit is unbelievable.

Poop!? Who knew it could be so fun to manage poop? :P we loved this game. It's labeled as Expert level by the publisher and I can see why. There are so many parts to it... Just look at the board set up.

Once we had a good grasp of the concept, the game turned out to be a ton of fun. The rulebook is pretty daunting. It mixes some humor in with the rules so that lightens it up but it is still very long.

Ian said something hilarious when I got this pet. The cards on the right represent the pet's needs and the order they need it from the top down. "That's Emma! She needs to eat. She needs to eat again. She poops. Then gets angry because she pooped. Then she needs to play." LOL :]

Emma decided to stand for this TableTop picture.

Ian tried laying her down (not a fan of board game tummy time). I wish I got a picture of it but when he picked her up... she had a poop cube attached to her leg! :P

Watch her dance!

Nice Spot To Land

I assume this is what the goose was thinking. :]

Ian and Emma thought it was funny!

TableTop Fun: Lewis & Clark

Another game from our epic board gaming session.. Lewis & Clark - The Expedition. We have played a lot of different games but this is our first one with a historical theme.

From BoardGameGeek:
Lewis & Clark is a board game in which the players manage an expedition intended to cross the North American continent. Their goal is to be the first to reach the Pacific. Each one has his own Corps of Discovery that will be completed by the Native Americans and the trappers met during the journey. He has to cleverly manage his characters and also the resources he finds along the way. Beware, sometimes frugality is better than abundance.

So... It's a race. Stressful! You "scout" the river or mountains ahead and set up camp. I liked the game... not my favorite because it's a delicate balance of getting supplies to move forward and actually moving. As with any new board game, Ian won. :P

TableTop Fun: Suburbia

For the holiday weekend, we had a 3 day board game session with Drew. Ian got a ton of games for his birthday. The first one we tried was Suburbia.

From BoardGameGeek:
Plan, build, and develop a small town into a major metropolis. Use hex-shaped building tiles to add residential, commercial, civic, and industrial areas, as well as special points of interest that provide benefits and take advantage of the resources of nearby towns. Your goal is to have your borough thrive and end up with a greater population than any of your opponents.

This game was a little frustrating for me. It involves a lot of math... I'm not good at doing even simple math in my head. I usually reverse numbers or read a 4 and think 5. I still found it fun because it involved city building, somewhat similar to Alhambra. I think it was a hit with Drew, Ian and even Emma. :]

That was the best shot. It took a lot of shots. :P

Pretty In Pink

The weather has turned warm and Emma gets to wear her really cute stuff. I discovered she definitely needs more warm weather clothing but what she does have is extremely adorable!

Making It Rain

Bath time is Daddy and Emma's deal. I usually stand back and watch. Ian has been having all kinds of fun lately because she is out of the newborn sling and sitting in the water. She's figuring out how to splash. :P

Daily Em: Skeptical Face

Not sure what we were discussing... but she was pretty skeptical of my statements. :P

Getting Crafty

Some days I have a ton of time on my hands... some days I don't have a spare minute. On the days I have extra time, I'm finishing up projects I've always wanted to do. This is one of them. I found that I was saving stacks of cards in various places... mostly Christmas cards but some birthday cards and thank you notes.

Using Photoshop, I made a front and back cover. I had them printed out and laminated at Staples. I punched holes through the covers and the cards and connected them with binder rings.

I don't save every card we get but I tend to hold on to the gems. :)

The past years will be stored and brought out to during the holidays. The current year will reside on the shelf collecting cards. :)

Emma - 2 Months Old

We made it 2 months! :) Emma is happy and healthy... lots of chub at 13 pounds, 1 ounce. Last night she slept 8 hours... I certainly didn't get 8 hours but I'll take it! She has enough neck control to sit in her bumbo for short periods. Best of all, she is starting to coo at us.

Her 2 month appointment was today and included vaccines. So far so good.

Silly goose...

Determined

Emma has decided that while she hates tummy time, she's going to stick with it. :)

It doesn't mean she's happy about it. :P

Miss Chubby Cheeks

Emma's cheeks go back and forth being chubby. We are in a chubby period. :)

Cake and Board Games

We had Ian's family over for his birthday. Emma started the evening off by making sure her and Daddy needed outfit changes. We were sitting on the front porch and she sprayed spit up everywhere. This is the before picture. Be thankful I didn't take an after. :P

We had Chinese and Emma had formula. :P

Supplied by Pops.

Ian got his favorite cake - Oreo Cookies and Cream...

...and a ton of board games. :) [In preparation for an epic tabletop long weekend!]

First Mother's Day

It's still slightly odd that I qualify for a new holiday... but I had a nice first Mother's Day! Ian made me breakfast - mushroom omelette and toast. He handed it to me along with my gift...  My Pretty Learning Purse, lol!

The funny thing about toys for babies... you end up being the one playing with them. So if it's a really annoying toy... I'm probably not going to want to play with it. :P Emma's already held the cell phone and car keys... she's interested in the mirror too. :)

We went for a walk in the afternoon and I got to feed the geese.

We also FaceTimed with G-Ma. :)
