TableTop Fun: Thunderstone Advance

Specifically, Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin.

From BoardGameGeek:
In Thunderstone Advance you build your party of heroes to defeat the dreaded Thunderstone Bearers in their dungeons or wilderness. The player who defeats the most valuable monsters will win the day, but beware – those monsters have all-new tricks up their sleeves, and victory will not come easy.

I loved it! It was so much fun throwing down cards in this dungeon crawl. It was challenging to learn what every card did. But through the 3 or so rounds we played, I got used to seeing certain cards. I think future games will be really quick but loads of fun.

Board Game Weekends

We are trying to pack in the Board Game Weekends because we are running out of opportunities to have them. Drew is going back to school in the fall and will probably be "busy" on the weekends. Emma will probably start sleeping less and be more interactive. A couple weekends ago, we had lots of fun with Uncle Drew and an extended Board Game Weekend. Ian moved the Jumparoo into the dining room to be with us... Emma included. :P

Aside from hanging out in her Jumparoo, she likes to hang out with Daddy.

"Hmmm... Your hand isn't very good daddy".

"Alright, pick this card. It's your best option".

Tummy Time with Uncle Drew is also fun.

He's on the spit up clean up crew.

All that activity can be exhausting...

...just kidding!

Sleepy High Chair Time

The high chair we have has a detachable tray. When it is removed, there is a small snack tray beneath it. Emma looks really small when the big tray is installed. The other day she got a little sleepy... :)

This makes her look full of energy.

The Great Outdoors

We had a brief spell of cool weather and we took advantage of the break in humidity to sit outside. (Me and my translucent baby :P)

Love her blue eyes...

Jump Around

I figured since Emma was an active baby that she would like a Jumparoo. The older Jolly Jumper attached to a doorway which we don't really have. I found a Fischer Price Jumparoo that jumps, swivels and expands to allow Emma to walk back and forth. I think she likes it... even if her feet can't entirely touch the ground. :)

Bumbo Reading Time

I tried reading to her and turning the pages but she insisted on turning them herself. :P

Emma's First Rainstorm

We had a storm come through a couple weeks ago and decided it was time for Emma to experience rain. Hopefully she ends up liking it as much as her mommy. :)

Update: Emma - 4 Months Old

Emma insisted that I publish an update to her 4 Months post. We had an official weigh in at the doctor's office.

She is 16.11lbs. and 25... almost 25.5 inches. This puts her in the 85th percentile for both stats. The doctor was impressed with how alert she was and said she seemed more like a 6 month old. She has "stranger recognition" which usually comes at 6 months.

Emma was not too happy with the needle pricks but calmed down quickly when daddy picked her up.

Overall she is doing really well. Rolling over - one way - back to tummy and tummy to back. Sleeping good. Grabbing at toys and learning to use her hands efficiently. All you can ask for is a healthy and happy baby. We are thankful Emma is!

Family Love

In addition to meeting Uncle Derek, Emma got lots of love from my family.

The big milestone for Emma was her visit to a restaurant. She was perfect! She slept through part of breakfast at Fireside and hung out the rest of the time.

She was wide awake for dinner at Mongolian Grill (which has been completely renovated and the food was even better!).

Sweetest moment of the visit was Max sitting down to read to Emma.

We went for a long walk on our last day.

And Emma woke up just in time to say goodbye the next day. :) :(

Meeting Uncle Derek

Emma met the last member of my family during our last visit. She was pretty enthralled with him.

Getting her to walk around... :)

Emma - 4 Months Old

Growing by leaps and bounds!*

Her birthday sneaks up on us... but this one came just as Emma was having so many leaps forward. She rolled over one day and hasn't stopped. She sleeps on her stomach now which freaks out mom and dad. We are in the middle of growth spurt/wonder week. Her daytime feedings are rough since she wants to be moving/talking/playing/eating all at once and can't. The tough days are made better when she lays in your arms and "talks" to you. Or lays on her tummy and "reads" a book with you. She's our big gooball!

Always trying to be a ball...

...and always trying to eat her feet. :P

Gooball!

I call this "Serious but flailing."

*Measurements are approximate as our doctor appointment is on Thursday!
