Dance Party

Emma has started to find her groove and I'm loving it! I figured out that I could get Spotify through our PS3, which could be played through the house speakers. So we usually have a dance party before and after baths. :) 

This is a longer version of the video I posted this week. Notice how she commands Dada to dance. :P

Just Dance 4 Fix

I am so very happy right now. Just Dance just posted this on their wall:

I can't wait to play it again. I've been dancing to JD 3 or Greatest Hits. I had stopped using JD 4 because the menu functionality was pretty much unusable. They were trying to rely solely on the Kinect for menu selection. The precision you had to have was RIDICULOUS. I spent most of my time jabbing at air in futility... desperately trying to select a song. Oh man.. if you picked the wrong song or got into another menu... you would be lost F O R E V E R.

Digifit + Polar H7

Awesome. Tonight I completed my first workout after being sick for 2 weeks. It is also my first workout using my new Polar H7 that I bought from the Digifit shop. I know that I shouldn't need the validation.. but being able to see how hard I am working is so very helpful. My cardio workout is usually an interval workout. It's helpful to see the high points and once I get down to a certain range I know I need to work back up. Here is a link to my workout: Just Dance. I try to get down to just above the Fitness range and then I'm back at it. For a geek who likes metrics... it's wonderful.

The consistent tracking I got from the H7 and Digifit was a HUGE step from the Scoshe myTrek. I didn't have to fuss with it once it was on. With the myTrek I would sometimes pause my workout to try to get it going again. Ridiculous. The Polar H7 was easy to put on, quick to connect to Digifit and it's surprisingly comfortable to wear. I can't wait to get back in the gym with it and go for walks with Ian.

I stuck to just 30 minutes of Just Dance tonight. I think I could have done more but I want to take it easy given that it's my first day back from being sick. I feel good. :)

I Wanna Dance

I felt a lot better on Monday and Tuesday. I danced on Wednesday (for 15 minutes but still!). On Thursday, Ian and I went for a short walk. Then on Friday I woke up with a sore throat. :( I have a mild fever right now... but I am really hoping to bounce back tomorrow. Running low on optimism though.

Anyway, Just Dance released new videos. I hate to admit it but I like this song. The dance is good... up until the part where the girl has a seizure~

This one is a bit of a joke. If you've ever watched Arrested Development you might laugh. I don't think I'll be dancing to this one much. :P

Dance Dance Dance

Apparently, I am going to be spending a lot of money on dance games in the fall. Ubisoft is releasing a game called "Hip Hop Experience". I have heard that the "Black Eyed Peas Experience" is actually pretty good considering it only has Black Eyed Peas music. :P

Because I'm a nerd... I watched the video in this article and tried to capture every song that is displayed in it since there is not an official song list yet.

The best part that I can see from the screenshots... They have dancers facing away from you that you can follow. I learn better in a traditional dance environment where I am facing the instructor's back. This is different from Just Dance and can be more difficult to follow.

Ubisoft dropping 'Hip Hop Dance Experience' like it's hot:



The latest celebrity to be featured in a Ubisoft dance "Experience" game is ... nobody in particular. The Hip Hop Dance Experience, rather than focusing on the work of a single artist, is a dancing game built around a collection of hip hop tracks, representing everything from the "Rapper's Delight" to Flo Rida. The Hip Hop Dance Experience will be out on Kinect and Wii in November. It'll debut at this weekend's Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, which is attended by plenty of people who have experienced hip hop dance already. Like last year's Black Eyed Peas Experience, Ubisoft has placed development in the hands of Elite Beat Agents creator iNiS. Unlike last year, however, we know iNiS is also working on an original music game, so this isn't as much of a crisis for iNiS fans.

Is It October Yet?

Cue The Screaming

This is the start of the Ubisoft press conference that caused me to started running around the living room and screaming. Then when Flo Rida came out I started jumping around in circles. Yes, that's a shield on his microphone. The audience is 99% nerdy game journalists... so it was mostly lost on them. Ian told me to bring it down a few levels. I'm SO excited. This game makes me look forward to October even more. Just Dance 4. My family is coming to visit. My stupid 30th birthday. Plus it's fall!

On a side note... many of the articles that came out on the gaming sites stated that the dancers are "scantily clad". Normally I would agree, but in this case I honestly don't. They're dressed kind of  dorky... their tops may be a little low cut but I wouldn't exactly call it "scantily clad". Am I wrong? 

Beyond Excited - New Just Dance Game!

Ubisoft just had their press conference at E3. Just Dance 4 was announced. It started with music... "Ooooh sometimes... I get a good feeling... yeah....." Cue Brittany running around the room screaming. Here is part of the 40 track-song list *squeal*:
