5 Days To Go!

Only 5 days left before Ian lands in California. Woooooooooo. I slept all night last night... but when I woke up at 5am this morning I thought it should be more like 1am. =/ Youtube has been blocked by my company... this is a little on the sucky side since I switched over to the new video format. I'll live though. Nothing else exciting happening. Just a bunch of errands and preparation for Ian's visit. Yay!

My Love For...

A Wide Range of Music v.3

ABBA

Yeah... that's right.. I said ABBA. I love those crazy Swedes! When I was a freshman in high school I got a spot on the Jade guard. This was the lower classmen group for Colorguard Winter Season. That year we did a show to the tune of ABBA's Waterloo (and something else but I completely forget what it was). Listening to it brings back so many memories... Just imagine having to listen to Waterloo over and over constantly for 4 months... You would go insane too! But I love the other songs... Here's a sample. And yes, you're going to like them. HA!

"Take A Chance On Me"

"Knowing Me, Knowing You"

"Mamma Mia"

"Waterloo"

"Super Trooper"

"Dancing Queen"

Seriously, Awesome Commercial

Hot Off The Press

Microsoft finally does some good.

We will need some serious help if Clinton gets elected.

The most awesome of awesome mounts might be coming to WoW.

Robert Downey Jr. looks like a midget in this photo. They would be cute heels if they weren't so damn high and held up by a single toothpick.

Big news in the world of my football team. Seahawks Cut Shaun Alexander. It's sad but definitely necessary.

I still want this game.

Nerdy Joke Of The Day

Q: How many Warlocks does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: Just one, but he needs two other people to click on it.

Fishing In The Dark

Confession: A very, very, very small part of me wishes that I was a country girl... growing up in the south, thick accent, working on a farm or something... go fishing and camping... love country music and Nascar... ride horses, go to local football games, eat ice cold watermelon...

The only problem is that I would probably have to be religious... and well.. yeah, no. Anyway, it's a VERY small part of me. I can't wait to be living with Ian... run our errands... go to the farmer's market - that's how I will satisfy it. I promise not to make him listen to country music.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Fishing in the Dark (Seriously, who makes a slide show about fishing???)

Random Award Of The Day

Uhm... WTF? I was browsing the headlines at CNN.com and noticed a little icon for a shirt next to a headline. So, being the curious little girl that I am... I clicked on it. And the following link is what I got: CNN Shirts - Random Award Winner
If you're still confused... try the CNN Shirts FAQ.
With CNN Shirts you can wear the news.

What I Did This Weekend...

Motored my boat around Exodar...

Diaperbutt tried to get in on the action... it didn't work out so well...

Anyway, I'm tired. There are 11 more days until Ian gets here... Seems like forever.. but shortly after his visit, I get to go see him in Canada. Woo hoo. Amanda is on vacation this week... which means there will be no one to listen to my snappy comebacks about work related things. Damnit.

Scientology Is "Dangerous"

Here's an interesting video about Scientology. It is from Jason Beghe - he is a TV and Movie Actor... I know him from G.I. Jane with Demi Moore. He apparently started to study Scientology in 1994 and three years ago he completed some promotional spots for the "Church". Jason is a "OT V"... whatever that is... I believe it on the higher end of the fake levels. He calls the "religion" among other things "destructive and a rip-off". He goes on to talk about a bunch of Scientology jargon crap... but my favorite quote is the following:

If Scientology is real then something is fucked up... because it ain't delivering what is promised. That's for goddamn sure. It is not.

Semi-Sign?

MSNBC.com - Top 5 Games To Play In Bed

It's funny because 3 of 5... Ian and I play. Every other night, we can be found playing Rummy, President, Texas Hold Em or Bowling on Clubhouse Games... right before bed of course. Crazy!

Because It's Worth It

I just watched the wife of a dying man say that the only phrase that helps her through the day is "I have all that I need". The man was asked what he sees when he looks at his wife... and he said I just love looking at her. It is worth it... to have something like that.

Keep Your Chin Up

I was having a really hard time last night. I am stressed out but I am not sure that "stressed" is the right word. I'm burnt out. It's the hard mix of keeping a relationship afloat across 2500 miles... the pain of having to wait... the issues of work... little things... and the fear that if I'm not happy all the time, it's going to have bad consequences.

Ian had to work on the weekend. We spend all week looking forward to 2 days of just us. To have that interrupted is painful. Then last night, I had internet issues. It kept connecting and disconnecting. Ian had a bad day... I couldn't make it better. I would give anything make it better. Because he has made my days something to look forward to. And my internet issue just made it worse. It was a comedy of errors yesterday. The internet went out. My drapes fell and probably won't go back up. I couldn't sleep. I played Tropico (lol) and once it became successful a hurricane hit and I was forced to become a dictator. Needless to say, my regime soon fell to a military coup. /sigh

I try to be more positive than this... but right now moving to Canada and being with Ian seems so far off. Even if I'm lucky enough to get a transfer I have to wait until the Fall of 2009. I just want to be content already. I hate this area. I hate the weather. The only plus is that I am close to my mom. I'm lucky I landed on my feet but come on... I deserve to have a full life... instead of this half life I am living. Nothing exists outside of my world... work, home, Ian. It's repetitive. It's not how I want to live.

I think this is just one of those times where I pity myself, cry about it and then I'm good for another few months or so. At the very least, I have goals. Goals are good right?

STEPHAN KING IS THE MAN!!!

Truer words have never been spoken. At least, by someone who people might actually listen to.

The most effective bar against what was called ''the seduction of the innocent'' when this hot-button issue centered on violent comic books 60 years ago is still parents who know and care not just about what their kids are watching and reading, but what they're doing and who they're hanging with. Parents need to have the guts to forbid material they find objectionable...and then explain why it's being forbidden. They also need to monitor their children's lives in the pop culture — which means a lot more than seeing what games they're renting down the street.
-- Stephen King: Videogame Lunacy

Emo Monday

I am not particularly happy today. So let's embrace it and listen to some Emo-ish music. Enjoy. QQ.

Not Wednesday, Not Yet Friday

Since I am waiting on everyone to come in this morning... I did a little surfing. Here's what I found:

  • I think Tom & Matt should spend a little less time with skanks and a lot more time with their babies. But that's just me.

  • I got my SWAG from Nintendo. All they did was make it so that I want to buy a Wii. Oh, and a Wii Fit.

  • Clinton is getting desperate. Okay, okay... she always was.

  • My new favorite comic is Dark Legacy. It will probably only be funny to people who game... but I think it's hilarious.

  • And last but not least... The chicks on WoW Insider give girls in WoW a bad name. They post these lame and pointless entries... The site would be good if they ditched the girls and the two column format.
Anyway, here's a picture of a bunny.

Moonstruck

During my last trip to Canada, I was flipping channels there was a movie called Moonstruck, which is about love and relationships. Later we decided to go into the hot tub and as we stepped in I saw the moon.. It was full and absolutely beautiful. The rays filtered through the fence and it was amazing. Definitely a sign.
