What's With The Chicken?

I'm listening to this song right now... Ian is napping on the couch in the worst position. I can't bear to... oooh as I am typing this he just moved into a non-yoga like position. Good... I won't have to put a neck brace on him in the morning. Anyway, I like this song but what is up with the chicken?

I'll Raise You...

...4 weeks of car insurance issues, 1 smashed car window and 1 case of bronchitis. My luck has to change I swear.

Guilty Gamer

I read an interesting article on Massively.com today. Behind the Curtain: The Guilt of an MMO Gamer. It's funny because Ian and I fall into the category of people who have a ton of alts. But I do feel some sort of guilt when I'm not able to play certain characters. I really want to spend some time leveling my druid... but then I have a cute little gnome warlock that hasn't seen any action in months. Not to mention my kick-ass Draenai Hunter who has a pet named DIAPERBUTT =D. As our lives settle down, we are finding more and more time to play WoW... but it will never be on the level of our past. I think the most fun I have in game is running Heroics with Kirk. But unless the group gets someone who is willing to play a healer... I'm stuck playing my main. =/ I feel good that my amount of time spent playing WoW can now be considered a healthy amount. However, I feel guilty that I'm not dusting off Tinkerbritt or breaking out the Oomkin and spamming green bolts. Anyway, this will not make any sense to about 95% of the people who read this. But I decided to share with the remaining 5%. =P

Sick + Extra Laying Around Time = New Website Look

I've been really sick the last few days. Cold. Cough. General sicky feeling. I started looking at different layouts for the site. This is the finish-ish product. I think it makes the pictures stand out more. I mean look... Mr. Silly McHatterson below this just POPS out at you. Drool and all. You can almost smell his wonderful baby smell and general gooey-ness. Anyway, hope you like it. It's going to be around for awhile!

Home Alone

Ian is working late. Probably won't be home until 3am... After the car being broken into... I really don't feel safe. First night alone in the new place. I don't like it.

Holes In The Wall

Yesterday Ian and I tried unsuccessfully to hang the canvas I got him for Valentine's Day. It's printed with the lyrics to one of our favorite songs...

We decided to hang it above our bed because I had it made to match our linens - chocolate brown and aqua blue. After tediously trying to make it center on the wall, I tried to put a nail in. It stopped about halfway. At first I thought that I had just hit a stud so I just swung the hammer harder. All it did was bent the nail. So I tried another spot... and another... and we soon ended up with our wall looking like this...

Needless to say, we were pretty confused. We tried a less obvious spot behind a nightstand and got the same result. At this point it hit me. Our apartment is next door to the stairwell... I wasn't hitting metal... I was hitting concrete! We tried another spot in the front guest bathroom. It shares the same wall as the bedroom and we ran into concrete again! I think the solution is just to get smaller nails but it was pretty disappointing not being able to hang this up.

Happy Valentine's Day

Me, Glasses And The Wedding

I had to run out to the grocery store for a few things... and I got suckered in by the impulse items at checkout. I picked up a copy of Martha Stewart Weddings (I can do this now since I am getting married... YAY). There was an "Ask Martha" section and I saw an interesting question...

So... it's not completely unheard of for people to wear glasses during their wedding. Plus, Ian and I agree that there isn't a need for me to change into someone I'm not just for my wedding. He's marrying me... not the generic bride in a magazine who doesn't wear glasses. I will most likely take my glasses off for a few shots but definitely have them on for the ceremony. Yes Mom, I'm doing it!!! (I'm like 90% sure I will...)

Oh What A Day

So, I'm working from home right now because my US auto insurance ran out. To sum up a very long story... I've been going through the process of trying to get an Ontario driver's license for 4 weeks. The California DMV has been sending me the wrong form... or not sending anything at all. I have spent hours on the phone to them. Sometimes yelling, sometimes crying but never really getting anywhere. My insurance ran out on Tuesday so I've been forced to stay home. This is mildly okay because I don't have any meetings and my boss is very understanding. The DMV has said over and over again that they will be sending the correct form but it never shows up. It's kind of funny because I talk to the same guy everytime... he always says oh I'll call you back... or you call me back, etc. When I do, I have to start the whole story over again! Finally they said send us a FedEx envelope and we will send it back to you. I did and guess what happened? It promptly got routed to the wrong department! The current solution is for them to send it out regular mail and if they ever get the FedEx envelope they would send it out again. Yeah, the California DMV is just AWESOME.

And just to make my week even more special... Ian and I walk out to the parking garage today to find my driver's side window smashed. I just about hyperventilated when I saw it. GPS gone. Ipod gone. Possible checkbook gone. Things could be worse. But what gets me is... there was a Lexus SUV parked next to me... a BMW behind me... and yet they decided to break into my car. I'm trying to keep optimistic but what the hell... I just want things to be easy for a bit.

At Least Someone Is Using This Crap Game

New Sidebar Item

Just a brief note that I've fallen in love with Google Reader. So much so that I've added a section on the side with my favorite shared items in it. Google Reader allows you to browse the website you normally would go to all in one place. Pop-up free. Nice, simple, and clean format. Love it! This is my equivalent of the Biggest Loser advertisements. Ian will know what I'm talking about! Lol.

Tuesday Newsday

For some odd reason, a vendor that I was supposed to meet with last week cancelled on me due to an emergency. He rescheduled for today and a contact at the company called me this morning and said he has another emergency and can't make it. So odd. Anyway...

I love Hannelore's shirt in the newest Questionable Content. I've been to Canada. Barenaked Ladies remind me of Canada. =]

From the "Oh, Please" File of Ridiculous Lawsuits - Wii Fit Target of Class Action Lawsuits.

Amanda Rae has put up some new pictures. It was a post wedding "trash the dress" session. These seem to be more and more popular. I don't know what my opinion is... I don't think I could do it.

I watched Obama's press conference last night. He said pretty much what I expected him to say. He is right to point out that he inherited this situation... things need to change... and they need to change now. We'll see... Oh and this "news" article is just plain stupid.

I want an actual Sackboy! And I still want these dishes. /sniffle

O.M.G. - "Get your immune system ready. Digital dysentery will be on the rise soon".

I'm going to work on getting my mom out to visit in the fall this year. I really want to take her on the Fall Colors Train Tour. Many people at work have recommended it and I think it would be a lot of fun.

I like him only because he can beat Federer. Nadal Shows Off His Brand New Baby.

Tomorrow I'm going to be working from home as my auto insurance runs out today. (Don't ask - it's a really long story). Maybe I will stay sane even if my Firefox browser crashes a million times because of Vista.

Say Hello To The New Me

I picked out a new face today. Let me know what you think! (Psst... I'm talking about the glasses...)

Coop Makes Everything Better

Hrumph

Today was a little sad... well aside from lighting a paper towel on fire, tripping and rolling my ankle as I walked out to my car, getting stuck in 2 hour traffic and finding out that there is a big offsite meeting I didn't know about... It was really sad to be at a big meeting where I didn't know anyone. I kept thinking that if it was in Thousand Oaks I could find someone I knew to stand around with or sit with. I could probably find Amanda or Emily somewhere. And then a video started about the development of Nplate. I got really sad when I saw different people I recognized from that team... Roy Baynes... Dietmar Berger... even the shots from the ODAC meeting... It's only been a few months and it seems like a long time ago that I worked there. =/

GAH - So Frustrating!

It took me 2 hours to get into work today. It's not even snowing! Maybe some light flurries but that's it. And what kills me the most... there were no accidents! It was just stopped for no apparent reason. It's so completely frustrating because it's not like there was some idiot who crashed or anything... It took me almost 30 minutes to get to Guelph Line when it normally takes me less than 10. I would have just turned around and gone home but for one thing I have a meeting today that needs to happen... and another... I was so sleepy and by the time I realized it was taking so long I was well past civilization and into the countryside that seperates Cambridge from Milton-ish area. This usually means their are no exits. UGGGGGGGH... so frustrating. Okay, going to work now.

I Live In A Snowglobe

On the way to work today it started to snow about halfway through. It was literally snowglobe conditions... just tons of fluffy white snow falling. It got much worse as the morning went on. I'm not looking forward to the drive home but... I did get some new wiperblades the other day... oh man! The difference it makes is remarkable. I can actually see!

Meet Our Wedding Photographer

She was one of my co-workers at Amgen in Thousand Oaks. Now she is taking her hobby of photography and putting it to work. She has done a few wedding shoots and I'm confident she can make our wedding pictures look beautiful! Her site linked above is brand new and does not have her entire portfolio up... but it will be soon. I think our "Amanda Life Planning" sessions with Emily worked. Pardon me while I take credit for Amanda Rae Photography's future sucess. =P

Wall Thingy

I found the perfect wall decoration to go over the sink. It isn't too big or too small and it matches the cabinets. Take a look...
