Post Halloween Wrapup

I have jumped at the chance to turn Halloween into a geeky event! We had 62 trick or treaters. We also saw a few trends. A lot of kids had on costumes that are more expected of the opposite gender (confusing sentence). For instance, we had a female Luigi, 2 male ladybugs, and a female pirate. Pirates in general were pretty popular. The nice thing about our new neighborhood is that there are a ton of babies and toddlers. Lots of poofy costumes - flowers, Mr. Potato Heads, etc. I loved handing out candy to the kids while Ian kept track of the number. Ian is making fun of the fact that my graph only has 1 data point. I told him to shush. =P

Max Quacks: I'm Thrilled

...to be playing Uncle Fester. Can't you tell?

I mean... who wouldn't want to be Uncle Fester for Halloween? Riveting.

Just kidding! CHEESE!!!

Seriously... how do I look? Someone give me a light bulb...

(Note: Google Blogs has updated the site so that if you click on a photo, it pops up an enlarged slideshow of all photos within the post. Just a tip from me to you.)

Yummy "Mall Pretzels"

They turned out perfect! (Okay, a little poofy... but I like poofy~)

Making "Mall Pretzels"

These were a lot of fun to make. Hopefully they will taste good!

Happy Haunting!

This weekend I took on an ambitious wreath project. It involved cutting 208 black felt circles and using 208 pins to hold them in place. I love how it turned out. Totally worth the black fuzz, pin pricks, scissor wounds and glitter mess.

Halloween was a little late coming to the house. But it's here! I plan on being a "friendly" witch tomorrow. Maybe pictures will be posted...

Updated: Starbucks Mug Collection

We've had some great additions to our mug collection!

  • Paris - Brought to us by Ian's boss, Kyle from his vacation.
  • San Diego - Like many of the mugs we have, this one was brought back by my wonderful colleague, Bridget. She gets a lot of them from trips to medical conferences.
  • Athens - Same deal - Bridget is awesome.
  • Boston - My new boss, Michele got me this one when she went to the Harvard Review meeting.
  • Las Vegas - From Ian's wild trysts while on a company trip...
  • Bahamas - This one is coming from the Bahama Mama herself, Kamber. She recently went on a cruise with Derek and got it in Nassau.

I love the San Diego one. A piece of California.

Here is the updated list of available mugs. I believe that our farthest city is Athens. Maybe we can top that one day!

I Love The Fall

We got hail this afternoon! It only lasted a few minutes.. but it was pretty cool to see. (And yes, you can see that my neighbor has started his deck!)
