Yay Random Long Weekend

It's a long weekend for us - even though Ian will most likely have to work. Monday is a civic holiday. Below is a picture of our project. I would like to pretend that it's a project we are going to start and finish this weekend but that is sooooooooooo not the case. We will definitely finish it but we certainly started it a long time ago. What is it? Stay tuned!

Julie & Julia

I *really* want to see this movie but I don't think Ian would go with me. Just have to wait for it on dvd!

I {Heart} Lockets

Head on over to Etsy and search for "locket". Pick one. I have fallen in love with lockets from etsy. The best part is.. they are only about $25 and absolutely adorable. I'm not an earring person... the only ring I want to wear is my engagement ring and in the future my wedding ring... and I've loved wearing necklaces but over the past few years (and a bajillion moves...) I've lost all of them. I think I want to start collecting lockets. Some of the ones on etsy are just gorgeous... I've also started to like "steampunk" style items. Old world mechanical looking pieces. Below are some of the ones I like... the first one is my favorite.

Ian Wants A Lego House

We have started watching a show on BBC called Top Gear. It's British. It's hilarious. It's awesome. I've never laughed so hard... and the fact that it's a car show is what makes it even crazier. The last episode we watched they wanted to experience vans. Usually they are reviewing really expensive sports cars (mostly obscure European brands...) so them driving junky passenger vans was pretty funny. At one point they had to change out the driver's side door of each of their cars (random). One of the hosts ended up duct taping their door on.

Anyway, Ian found out today that one of the hosts is going to build a full size house out of Legos. I'm going to start taping that show... James May's Toy Stories. It's too awesome to pass up.

私達は元気づける!

The title of this post means "We attach vigor!" What does THAT mean you wonder? WE CHEER IN JAPANESE (of course)!!

Lovely New Banner

As you can see there is a new banner at the top of the page... after a few tweaks Ian and I felt this one matches us the best.

In other news... someone needs to keep me off of etsy. I'm considering have this dress made. /sigh

We're Not Doing This...

I was thinking about walking in to a Plain White T's song but jeez... this blows that idea right out of the water. No Ian, we're not doing this. I don't care how much alcohol you would drink and how fun it would be. =P

Cadillac Ranch

On the trip across the US we stopped at a place called the Cadillac Ranch. It's a small section of farmland in Texas that has 10 Cadillacs buried vertical in the dirt. It's a very popular spot to stop and write your name or a message with spray paint on a car. Ian and I stopped and found an almost empty paint can. We managed to write "Brittany Ian 08'" with a heart on one of the cars.

It was VERY cold.

Erik went to the ranch on his way back from a rocket launch recently. Most of our writing is gone... you can kind of see some yellow from our writing.

He wrote over our section. Needless to say, he was a little more prepared than us... The ranch has such a high turnover of vistors that it's not really surprising ours is gone. Erik painted his, walked up and down the row to look at other cars and during that time someone painted over his fresh paint!
