Got My Craft On Today...

I did the crafty thing today and it was a lot of fun. Got some help from Ian too... (thank you from your mathematically challenged fiance). I would love to show you what I made but it's for the wedding. Here's a little sneak peek.

Did you know there has been a revolution in the world of stamps? I didn't either. Awhile back I went to Michael's to look at getting some stamps. I walked up and down the aisles for a bit looking for the standard wooden block stamps. I finally found a very small section of them. Confused I looked around and saw this huge display of clear "stuff". The "stuff" turned out to be this:

Sorry for the fuzzy/tilted to the right picture (I'm sure Amanda cringes when she looks at my photos). But as you can sort of see... the revolution has been a move to clear plastic stamps. You buy an acrylic block and attach the stamps to that. When you're done, you just peel the stamps off and wash them. A bonus to this is that you can look through the block and see the exact place you're going to stamp. My only problem is figuring out how to easily store the "pages" of stamps I now own.

What A Good Day!

Just a nice quiet evening home on my birthday... a cozy fake fire... some fall pumpkins and gourds... what's that other thing? OH, THAT'S JUST MY NEW COACH PURSE!!!! I've been wanting a good sturdy purse for awhile. I've checked out the Coach stores around here but I haven't seen anything I like. My mom and Erik just happened to pick out the most perfect purse for me. It's blue - big points there. It's the perfect size. I'm getting older and tend to carry more "stuff". It goes with a lot of the stuff I wear. The list goes on and on. So perfect. So awesome. Thanks Mommy!!

The Registry Conundrum

I've been getting a lot of questions about our wedding registry. I figured that with having a small wedding (parents and siblings only) there really wouldn't be a need for one. But a lot of friends and family have asked about it. The pickle that I'm in... is the fact that I live in Canada. I can't set up a registry on a US website to ship to my Canadian address. Even then, if a person in Canada wanted to purchase something, they wouldn't be able to use their billing addresses. It's the same issue with using a Canadian website. I've checked most of the stores like Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, etc. But that's not the whole problem.

To be honest, we really don't need much. We have purchased most of what we need because I moved here with mainly just clothes. Soon after I arrived, we moved into a big 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. We have everything we would need. Most of the stuff that I could put on a registry would be labeled "nice to have". Like hurricane candle holders and items to outfit my future retro-ish kitchen. We are saving for a house and that's going to be our next big purchase.

So that's the little issue I'm dealing with. I think it's a bit tacky to ask for money. Our wedding annoucement will mostly just say "Feel free to send your best wishes". I don't know.

Guess Who Got Her Birthday Present Early

Ian caves easily. He asked me if I wanted my birthday present early as I was making breakfast this morning. Of course I said yes! He got me this wonderful locket from a seller on Etsy named Found + Made. The best part is a few of the words on the face of it... "love" and "To be"... <3

In Honor Of Our Engagement Anniversary...

I'm posting a video that Ian and I love... THE PAW-HOLDING OTTERS!!! If you don't say "AWWWW" you have a heart of stone. The best part is the end... they separate for a little bit.. but come back together.
